History came alive for the students of SDVM as they embarked on a fascinating journey to Chitnavis Wada, a 250-year-old historical building located in Mahal, Nagpur. This architectural marvel was constructed by the Maratha Bhosle Kings of Nagpur and served as a significant administrative center during the Marathas’ regime.

The students were greeted by the grandeur of Chitnavis Wada, its walls adorned with vibrant paintings depicting the life of Krishna. These colorful murals provided a visual narrative of the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Maratha Kingdom. The intricate wood carvings, a testament to the craftsmanship of that era, adorned the building and added to its aesthetic appeal.

Exploring the premises, students discovered the Fountain Chowk, a central courtyard that added a touch of serenity to the bustling administrative hub. The old-world charm of the kitchen, preserved in its original form, offered a glimpse into the culinary practices of the Maratha era. The Murlidhar Temple within the wada added a spiritual dimension, showcasing the cultural diversity embedded in the historical structure.
